The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a nationwide network of volunteers, both medical and non-medical, who are trained and prepared to support public health and emergency response efforts in their communities. These volunteers are organized into local units and work under the guidance of local health departments and emergency management agencies.
For 3 months, we implemented a statewide recruitment strategy to attract new emergency volunteers and streamline their registration in Missouri’s Show-Me Response system. Through targeted awareness campaigns, we educated communities about the Medical Reserve Corps’ mission and its critical role in public health emergencies. This initiative established new MRC units in underserved areas while providing comprehensive support for sustainable development. The integrated approach created an expanded volunteer networks and enhanced emergency response capabilities throughout Missouri.
